Verus Recruitment are currently supporting them in the recruitment of experienced High Voltage Electrical Technicians to join their expert maintenance team.
About the role: As a High Voltage Electrical Technician, you will be part of a specialist maintenance team responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of both high voltage (HV >1000V) and low voltage (LV <1000V) electrical infrastructure. Operating across three key sites in South Yorkshire—and occasionally supporting additional locations—you’ll ensure the integrity and reliability of critical power systems used in a heavy industrial setting. Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HV & LV networks and associated switchgear
- Maintain circuit breakers, protection equipment, transformers, and earthing systems
- Carry out testing and fault-finding using industry-standard tools and techniques
- Operate within HV & LV Permit to Work systems and ensure safe working practices
- Work both independently and as part of a team to deliver electrical services to a high standard
- Complete all inspection reports and maintenance records with accuracy and attention to detail
- Support other business units as required and be flexible to changing operational demands
About You We’re seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious technician with solid experience in HV and LV maintenance. You’ll be confident working across large industrial sites and understand the importance of both compliance and customer service. Essential Criteria
- Apprenticeship-trained in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical inspection and maintenance within a heavy industrial environment
- Working knowledge of:
- HV & LV networks and switchgear
- Circuit breakers and protection systems
- Transformers and earthing systems
- Electrical testing and diagnostic techniques
- HV & LV permit-to-work systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- A full UK driving licence
