Job Description
- Business Development Director – Asia Pacific
- Drive Commercial Growth: Lead business development across APAC with a focus on revenue, profitability, and brand equity.
- Market Expansion: Identify and prioritise new market opportunities (e.g., South Korea, Japan, SEA, Australia) and lead commercial entry strategies.
- Partner Management: Build and manage relationships with key distributors, retailers, and e-commerce partners; negotiate commercial agreements.
- Channel Strategy: Shape and optimise channel mix across DTC, retail, distributor, and e-commerce.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and NPD to ensure commercial success in-market.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Own commercial forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking for the region.
- Regulatory & Compliance Awareness: Stay informed on local market regulations and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
- Proven track record in business development or commercial leadership within the personal care/beauty/cosmetic sector.
- Deep understanding of Asian markets, ideally with experience across multiple countries (e.g., China, Japan, SEA, South Korea, Australia/NZ).
- Strong network of regional distributors, retailers, and/or e-commerce players; experience with Sasa, Guardian, Watsons, Mannings etc. would be of interest.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills and cultural fluency.
- This role is based in England with weekly travel to the UK; planned international travel is also to be expected.
