Legal Counsel

An excellent opportunity for an in-house lawyer to join a prominent UK food supplier. The business is looking for a lawyer to support on a range of commercial and corporate legal matters. The ideal candidate will be flexible and hard-working, with a desire to help shape the role and evolve with the business in the coming years. If successful, you will join the business at an exciting time, providing you with the opportunity to help shape the role and legal function in the UK. The role will report to the UK Finance Director as well as work closely with stakeholders in many areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including but not limited to, service agreements, licensing agreements and vendor contracts.Stay up to date and advise on pertinent laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Contribute to updating, developing and implementing internal policies and procedures as well as providing the relevant training.
• Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders regarding contract interpretation, rights, and obligations.
• Collaborate with internal departments in various European countries, aligning legal regulations across the jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain a legal framework, ensuring strong internal controls.
• Support with corporate governance activities and company secretarial matters.
• Assist with dispute resolution and litigation matters.
• Manage external counsel.

Qualifications

• 3 PQE+ as a guideline
• Preference for England & Wales qualification
