Mechanical Engineer

CMC are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman with expertise in complex enclosure design to join our client who are a leading defence organisation. The role involves working closely with the Mechanical Design team and collaborating with specialists from multiple engineering disciplines to create mechanical designs that support their product range.

12 Month Contract – Onsite (Stafford) – Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and developing 3D models using CAD
• Assisting in various aspects of product design
• Providing mechanical engineering expertise for future business opportunities

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• A broad understanding of engineering disciplines (Systems/ Electrical/ Electro-Mechanical/ Rotating Machinery)
• Experience with manufacturing processes for electrical enclosures, such as metal fabrications, castings, machining, welding, and corrosion protection
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software
• Strong knowledge of materials and best practices in design lifecycle processes
• Familiarity with designing to stringent requirements, including shock resistance, EMC, and thermal performance
