Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join team. As a vital member of their growing R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and developing a wide range of fuse-links, fuse-holders, and associated components from a mechanical perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components, particularly focusing on push-fit copper/brass end caps and ceramic barrels.
• Create and manage technical drawings (2D using AutoCAD and 3D using SolidWorks).
• Support prototype development, testing, and product introduction activities in collaboration with internal teams.
• Operate and interpret results from mechanical testing (tensile/pressure) and contribute to ISO 17025-compliant reports.
• Ensure product designs meet all relevant standards and certification requirements (e.g., IEC 60269, ASTA).
• Work closely with electrical engineers, quality, and operations throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Lead revision control and documentation processes for new and sustained product development.

Key Requirements:

• HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in a mechanical design role, preferably within an electrical or engineering product environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances, push-fit design, and materials (copper, brass, ceramic).
• Familiarity with IEC technical standards and testing procedures.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
• A proactive mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
