Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Semiconductor Photonics Yield Improvement Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will identify, analyze, and resolve yield-related challenges within our photonics manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of III-V semiconductor photonics device physics and manufacturing, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Yield Analysis: Analyze production data to identify yield detractors, implement corrective actions, and enhance overall performance.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and execute process improvements to boost yield and minimize variability in photonics semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Failure Analysis: Conduct detailed electrical and physical failure analyses to determine root causes of yield loss and drive corrective measures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with process engineers, design engineers, and quality assurance teams to resolve yield-related issues effectively.
  • Data Management: Maintain comprehensive yield data for both released and R&D products, generate insightful reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Technology Integration: Stay informed about industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve yield performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality across the organization.
  • Person Specification:

    Required:

    • PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
    • Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes for III-V photonic devices, optical semiconductor devices, lasers, or similar technologies.
    • Proven ability to conduct failure mode analysis, root cause investigations, and resolve yield and quality issues.
    • Willingness to work across time zones and travel internationally to support project development and process deployment.
    • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies for process development and control. Proficiency in tools like MS Excel or Minitab is highly desirable.
    • Strong skills in Python scripting and large-scale data analysis.
