Behaviour Mentor – Mental Health – Trauma – Education and Training – DorkingThe school is based in Dorking and provides support for children aged 9-16 years who have a range of learning and behavioural needs due to social, emotional and mental health challenges. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to. The school provides a safe learning environment for children who suffer with high levels of anxiety which can result in a lack of focus and challenging behaviour.What is involved:

Behaviour Mentor – Education and Training – DorkingProviding assistance and supervision for children’s behaviour during the school day and supporting their learning and participation in classWorking 1-1 with students to help them learn ways of managing and controlling their own behavioursRecognising behaviour triggers and helping to de-escalate challenging situationsWorking with a class, a small group or individual learners, both inside and outside of the classroomEncouraging the development of social skills and supporting students’ individual needsParticipating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a teamSupporting regulations pertaining to safeguardingWhat is required:

Behaviour Mentor – Learning Mentor – Mental Health – Trauma – DorkingAn Undergraduate Degree, ideally in a relevant subject such as Psychology or CriminologyPrior experience as a learning support assistant/mentor in a school setting, ideally for challenging studentsKnowledge and/or a keen interest and understanding of the range of different types of learning and behavioural needsGood general education levels in English and Maths – A Levels are preferableA co-operative working style and a proactive approach to solving problemsGood interpersonal and communication skill and a caring attitudeSummary:Behaviour Mentor – Learning Mentor – Mental Health – Trauma£100 to £125 daily rate (5-day week – 8.30am to 4.00pm)April 25 start, or sooner for those that are available.Apply via this advert or call Ben Mason on 01483 362393 for more details.
