TXM is working with a train operating company to recruit an individual to manage the delivery of the Manufacture and Supply Agreement for a new fleet of vehicles. The role holder will be a key person in ensuring that the new fleet meets all stakeholder requirements and is delivered in line with contracted milestones and within budget. The role will collaborate with the Fleet Procurement Business Change Manager to develop transition plans for deploying the new fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the Fleet Procurement Project team and the wider management team.
- Lead engagement with the manufacturer on Unit design and acceptance.
- Ensure design review processes adequately address requirements.
- Engage with staff and customers during the design process, including attending mock-up reviews and First Article Inspections.
- Ensure the manufacturer delivers a design meeting stakeholder requirements.
- Obtain stakeholder sign-off for the design, including owners.
- Maintain focus on project delivery timelines.
- Provide timely and accurate project reports.
- Support the Fleet Procurement Programme Manager in developing business transition plans.
- Develop and implement the Unit Acceptance process to ensure requirements are met for each Unit.
- Provide assurance to the Head of Fleet Procurement and Owners before signing certificates of Acceptance.
Experience
- Experience in a project management role.
- A proven track record of delivering change.
- Experience delivering complex, high-value, or high-profile projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to achieve consensus among stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with PRINCE2 project management principles.
